A focused disability practice
Managing attorney Joel Humphries has practiced exclusively in Social Security disability law for 15 years.
Before becoming a disability advocate, Mr. Humphries practiced in other areas, including civil litigation, real estate, contracts, and electronic discovery. That broader experience informs a practice centered on careful preparation, clear communication, and disciplined case development.
As a disability advocate, Mr. Humphries has represented thousands of Social Security disability claimants throughout the United States, including claimants in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, New York, Michigan, and Massachusetts.
Educate the claimant. Develop the record. Communicate throughout the case.
Over the years, Mr. Humphries has observed that the Social Security disability process can be better approached by educating claimants regarding the process, optimizing claimant file detail, and providing real-time feedback throughout the case.
That philosophy recognizes a basic truth: every person with a disability is an individual. A strong claim should reflect the person’s actual medical history, work history, daily limitations, treatment, and circumstances—not reduce that person to a diagnosis or a form.
